Veeam Software, a global leader in data resilience and backup, is set to acquire Securiti AI, a leading data security and AI governance provider, for $1.725 billion in cash and stocks.

The acquisition will allow Veeam to integrate Securiti AI’s DSPM, privacy, and AI trust capabilities with Veeam’s data backup, recovery, and resilience platform.

The goal will be to provide customers with a single control plane for securing, and managing their data across different apps, clouds, SaaS, endpoints, and backups. This will help customers to unlock the potential of that data for future AI deployments and initiatives.

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals. Veeam plans to continue to offer Securiti AI’s Data Command Center alongside its existing product family and will announce new integrated capabilities in the near future.

This is Veeam’s largest acquisition to date by far, and it’s first directly in the cybersecurity market. Securiti AI’s capabilities will take Veeam out of pure play data backup and resilience and into the fast-growing AI security space.

“We’ve entered a new era for data. It’s no longer about just protecting data from cyber threats and unforeseen disasters; it’s also about identifying all your data, ensuring it’s governed and trusted to power AI transparently,” said Anand Eswaran, CEO at Veeam.

“This is the single most critical factor in failed AI initiatives. By combining the market-leading strengths of Veeam and Securiti AI, we bring those capabilities together in a single solution to help customers understand, secure, recover, and rollback, and unleash their data to drive new business value.”

Securiti AI is a popular DSPM, data security and AI security provider, founded in 2019 and headquartered in San Jose, California. Securiti raised over $156 million across three funding rounds, with funding from General Catalyst, Mayfield, and Capital One Ventures. The company is known for pioneering the Data Command Center, a knowledge-graph-powered platform that unifies data intelligence, governance, and protection across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

“Enterprise AI is simply not possible without data security,” said Rehan Jalil, CEO at Securiti AI. “Bringing together our capabilities with Veeam creates one data command center that delivers data resilience, DSPM, privacy, governance, and AI trust across the entire data estate. Veeam’s global reach and innovation, combined with our technology, will provide customers with unmatched business resilience and security to fully unlock the benefits of AI.”

Following the close of the transaction, Jalil will join Veeam as President of Security and AI. Jalil is a serial entrepreneur. He previously founded Elastica, acquired by Blue Coat for $280 million and later by Symantec for $4.7 billion, as well as WiChorus, acquired by Tellabs for $180 million.

Veeam Software, headquartered in Seattle, Washington, is the #1 global market leader in data resilience, protecting over 550,000 customers worldwide, including 67% of the Global 2000. Veeam provides data backup, recovery, and security solutions for cloud, virtual, physical, SaaS, and Kubernetes environments. In 2020, Veaam was acquired by Insights Partners in for $5 billion USD.

This acquisition marks a major step for Veeam in unifying data resilience with data security and privacy, further strengthening its position as a leader in secure, AI-ready data management.
