The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has introduced a new Industry Engagement Platform (IEP) designed to formalize how technology providers connect with federal cybersecurity teams.
The agency said the platform would help it better assess emerging tools while giving organizations a transparent route to share innovations that may support national cyber and infrastructure security.
CISA Acting Director Madhu Gottumukkala commented on the news saying the initiative reflects the agency’s need for earlier visibility into private-sector advancements.
“With the launch of this new platform, we’re […] giving industry a direct line to share the tools and technologies that can help CISA stay ahead of evolving threats,” said Gottumukkala. “The private sector drives innovation and this collaboration is essential to our national resilience.”
Structured Pathways For Technical Discussions
The IEP allows companies, academic institutions, non-profits, and government partners to request discussions with CISA subject-matter experts. These sessions give innovators a venue to present emerging capabilities, outline technical requirements, and discuss how their solutions address evolving threats.
CISA noted that participation does not provide preferential treatment in federal contracting, but it supports ongoing market research and long-term capability planning.
Organizations using the platform maintain customizable profiles that highlight technical domains, areas of expertise, and topics they want to discuss. Participants may also upload capability summaries that CISA teams reference when evaluating industry trends.
According to the agency, the platform’s matching process helps connect innovators with the most relevant CISA divisions and reduces friction during early engagements.
CISA identified several priority areas for engagement, including information technology (IT) and security controls, data and analytics, communications technology, and emerging fields such as post-quantum cryptography.
The platform aims to help both government and industry adapt to shifting threat environments and ensure that innovative technologies inform future mission needs.
