Expert Panel: How To Choose The Right RMM Solution In 2025
This article will cover

Choosing the right Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) solution is crucial for effectively overseeing IT operations, but it can be a daunting task given the wide array of options available.

How can organizations select a solution that balances compatibility with existing systems, scalability for future growth, and ease of use without compromising on robust management features?

We asked 3 experts to weigh in on how to choose the most effective RMM solution.

Keanan Ball, Senior Director of Product Marketing for RMM, Kaseya: Always trial the product before you buy. There’s a lot of misinformation floating around on Reddit from all directions. Get into the product you’re considering and make sure it meets your needs. While trialling the product, test how responsive the company behind the product is. Ask for support in setting up automation and see if engineers get assigned to support you, or if it’s their standard salespeople getting involved.

Content is just as important as product capabilities. Many tools in this space love to market their reporting modules or their automations engines; however, these tools have no templates, scripts, or content to support you using these powerful modules. IT professionals are usually too busy to start from scratch on an end-to-end automated workflow or a fancy report. Choose a vendor and a product that will continue to support you with each release with the content and templates you need to do your job. Read the full Q&A.

Dee Zepf, Chief Product Officer, Syncro: In addition to the core capabilities of an RMM, CISO’s looking for RMM tools should consider usability and solutions with intuitive interfaces that have a seamless integration with existing systems, including PSA or ticketing tools. It’s important to have a tool that not only enables you to monitor, manage, and script but that does it in an intuitive and simple way. Read the full Q&A.

Jeff Bishop, EVP & GM, Product Management and Asio Platform, ConnectWise: To begin, a thorough review of your business goals can help guide you in the right direction—the best decision is based on your organization’s unique needs.

The options for enterprises managing, or planning to manage, a very large client base will differ from a smaller MSP. Your business needs will change over time, and the RMM solution you choose should be able to scale and adapt as you grow. A solution that works for a small team may not be effective for a larger one, and vice versa.

Cybersecurity is also a critical consideration as threats continue to evolve. Prioritizing a platform with built-in security features can help not only detect potential vulnerabilities but also mitigate risk in your clients’ environments.

Lastly, the usability of your RMM solution is crucial. If an interface is overly complex or difficult to navigate, it can lead to inefficiencies and errors. This extends to ease of setup as well—how easy is it to deploy the solution across devices? Read the full Q&A.
